Day 11
Today was the last full day of driving, we went to a ghost town Calico CA and made it to our final stay along the Route in a town called Rialto, we're staying in a Wigwam. I'm not looking forward to the last 70 miles on the LA interstate...
That's awesome!!! I plan to make this same trip but backward in driving direction from Santa Monica to Chicago since I live only 25 miles from Santa Monica. I plan to do the drive on a 1989 Mustang 5.0 convertible black paint with black top. It's not quite the near 6 decade classic as your 66 but a much later classic only 3 decades old this January 2019, coming in about 3 hours at midnight. I plan to start rebuilding my mustangs engine in February 2019 then let's see when I build the courage to take the drive after it is well broken in. I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures & videos from the rebuild process to the install; from the drive from Santa Monica to Chicago & any sight seeing. I'll post it all on YouTube.
Get her cranked up to 80mph and hold on!
