Day 12

It's so hard to believe that after almost 2 years of planning for this adventure that it's finally come to an end..
Some say that it's not about the journey, it's about the destination.. However if there's one thing that I've learned in the last 12 days, it's without the journey you can't appreciate the destination. There is so much of this beautiful country that goes unseen and taken for granted. To see what "progress" has done to these little towns along the way is heartbreaking. There are a lot of people out there who are doing everything they can to help preserve Route 66 history. Three of them I got to know during this trip and want to thank. Dan Rice and Ian Bowen from 66-to-Cali at the Pier in Santa Monica. Thank you Dan for all the time you took to educate me on Route 66! And Angel Delgadillo at his barber shop in Seligman Arizona, I only got to spend about an Hour talking with him and in that time he told me more about Route 66 then I could have imagined. Thank you Angel! There is one more person that I want to thank for making this adventure possible, that's my copilot and best friend, my wife Chris. Without her support and patience through the build of the car and planning, the trip couldn't have been done, I love you.. Lastly I'd like to say Thank you to all of the great people I've got to meet and talk to along the way, I can honestly say that everyone was friendly and pleasure to talk with!
Thanks to everyone that has followed us on our Once In A Lifetime Adventure!

Day 11

Today was the last full day of driving,  we went to a ghost town Calico CA and made it to our final stay along the Route in a town called Rialto, we're staying in a Wigwam. I'm not looking forward to the last 70 miles on the LA interstate...

Day 9

Not to much driving today, we drove to Williams Arizona and took a train to the Grand Canyon. It was the first time I've ever seen it, I was shocked to learn that it's nearly 8000 feet above sea level. I always thought it was in the middle of the desert. Tomorrow we should be in California and our final state..

Very nice day driving today, we made it to Arizona and visited the Petrified Forest, it was like a mini Grand Canyon. We stopped for the night in Winslow Arizona.
